Slate Supplier Collaborates on Roofing Videos with Trainer

NEW ROOFING VIDEOS tutorials are being produced by Independent Slate Supplies, the national importer and distributor of roofing slate from Spain and Brazil.

The Cornwall headquartered Independent Slate Supplies (ISS), which also supplies natural sills, flooring to its building merchants network, increasingly found it was being asked by roofing contractors and self-build customers how to use their products.

To meet their customers’ needs, ISS came up with the idea to produce a series of short video tutorials that will provide small, digestible amounts of information to demonstrate the process of slating a simple roof from start to finish and educate the consumers on how best to use their products.

Steve Gulliver, the External Business Development Manager for ISS, has teamed up with Alan Lander, CITB Trainer, Assessor and IV of Rooftrain and they have started filming the first series of videos from Alan’s Roofing Training Centre in Exeter.

The series of short educational video guides will be available in chronological order and will incorporate the planning stage of a roof through to its completion.

The videos will be available via the ISS website and will be free for customers to use.  The videos will be aimed at self builders, roofers and merchant staff who need an insight into the world of slating.

With nearly 100 years of experience between them, Steve and Alan have accumulated a vast knowledge of roofing techniques and roofing products, meaning for those wanting to improve their understanding of slate roofing the videos will be invaluable.
