After completing roof repairs at the school for Hertfordshire County Council, and working with Artelia, Ashe Roofing felt it wanted to show its support of the organisation’s objectives with a gift. Supporting Diversity During the past academic year, Chater Junior school has been focusing primarily on celebrating the diversity and rich cultural heritage of its pupils, amongst whom the head teacher says there are over 40 different languages spoken. The school has been welcoming children from all their different backgrounds and striving to ensure they feel part of one group. Ashe Roofing’s director, Robin Fone joined the Head Teacher, Laurie O’Brien and Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, at a special school assembly, celebrating the school’s diversity. They were shown a short movie that the school had created showing all the routes they have taken to make sure every child, no matter what their background, feels that they are part of the ‘school family’. Ashe Roofing Ltd is a specialist roofing contractor operating across all sectors. It is based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and works across the South and South East regions. Robin Fone, Ashe Roofing Director said, “The school was attempting to raise enough funds to purchase a defibrillator, so we were very happy to be in the position to gift them one at the end of job. “For us at Ashe Roofing it’s not just about delivering a watertight roof on budget and on time. We were so impressed by the work of the teachers and achievements of the children we felt we wanted to recognise them by helping them to achieve their goal of installing a defibrillator.” The defibrillator will be installed at the school by next term and is sited outside the main reception area. >> Read more of the latest roofing news Previous article £8m Training Funding Opens to Upskill Retrofit WorkforceNext article New Home Registrations Fell 42% for Q2 2023 Share article You may also like View all News Charity News +2 17 March 2026 Tips for Improving Workplace Stress Management Charity News +2 4 March 2026 Band of Builders Completes Life-Changing Project for Retired Builder Charity News +2 18 February 2026 Volunteer Roofers Needed for Upcoming Band of Builders Projects Charity News +2 12 February 2026 Charities Team Up to Deliver Suicide Prevention Live Webinar Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
