Read the latest magazine Industry News Skills & Training Roof Training Groups Top Training Success with 4000 Days Delivered 13 October 2022 THE REGIONAL Roof Training Groups, working with the National Roof Training Group (NRTG) have reported the successful delivery of 4,000 training days over the last 6 months. In addition, over 2,000 days covering essential roofing and working at heights were arranged through the training groups. Member companies have benefited from saving £100,000 by booking courses through the Roof Training Groups. Roof Training Groups work with client companies to deliver off-site training requested by the businesses. The Groups also provide support with apprenticeship provision, on-site assessment, and people development. Individual groups have different specialities, some with training centres, some with good funding knowledge, and others with a strong focus on supporting and developing local provision. The National Roof Training Group brings the collective knowledge and skills of training group officers together (with over 150 years combined industry knowledge), and works entirely for the benefit of the roofing industry. National Roof Training Group This month, the NRTG celebrates two years of formal collaboration between Roof Training Groups and continues to encourage best practice and training growth through supporting trainers and assessors to qualification. Programmes have successfully delivered training to 60 individuals from a range of roofing disciplines, progressing towards and achieving qualifications. And new courses are starting shortly for trainers to work towards the Award in Education and Training, and for assessors to work toward the Certificate in Assessing Vocational Training. Leading Roof Training Michelle Workman, Group Training Officer at the London and South East Roof Training Group Michelle Workman has chaired the NRTG for its first two years, expertly supporting groups through challenges, whilst developing a sound foundation and promoting growth. Michelle is the Group Training Officer at the London and South East Roof Training Group. Now, Michelle is passing the Chair to previous Vice-Chair, Denise Cherry, who leads the Yorkshire Independent Roof Training Group. Denise will continue to head the Assessor project and promote excellence in roofing training and effective collaboration.
