Read the latest magazine Awards and Events Industry News Roof Training Expert Awarded Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction 2024 4 October 2024 ROOF TRAINING expert, Denise Cherry received a Local Hero award for the North East at the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction Awards 2024. The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) awards ceremony, which celebrates and honours outstanding individuals in the construction industry, took place on 30 September 2024 at Birmingham’s Burlington Hotel at the start of UK Construction Week. The Awards Ceremony was hosted by National Federation of Builders (NFB), and showcased the influential women that work in construction. Top 100 Most Influential Women Denise Cherry, Chair of the National Roof Training Group and Group Training Officer of the Yorkshire Independent Roof Training Group (YIRTG) was recognised for making female role models more visible and accessible to inspire others, and demonstrating that the sector is open to everyone. Denise is a founder of the Raise the Roof group, inspiring, educating and supporting the roofing industry to make in inclusive and welcoming to all. Denise Cherry said: “I am delighted to be recognised in this national award covering all of construction, particularly as it raises the profile of what we are doing in roofing. “I hope the award will act as a catalyst for our campaign to build up the infrastructure of roofing trainers and assessors who can deliver dynamic and interactive training across the roofing industry. We want to develop more people who have a real connection with, and passion for roofing, helping them to become talented and inspiring trainers.” Incredible Women Danny Clarke, Engagement Director, England at CITB, said: “Congratulations to our award winners and to all of those who were shortlisted for the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction.
