Having worked together for many years, Wain Homes approached Russell Roof Tiles to assist with supplying materials for the Scout Hut’s roof. RRT’s Grampian tile – a standard flat interlocking roof tile laid half broken bonded – was specified for its aesthetic and durability. The tile provides the commercial benefits of concrete whilst maintaining the traditional appearance of slate and clay tiles which fit in with the surrounding area. “We have developed a close relationship with Wain Homes over the years, having been specified for the majority of their recent housing projects,” said Rhodri Jones, sales executive at Russell Roof Tiles. “We were delighted to help out with the reroofing project at the Scout Hut, and to show support for Wain Homes and the local community.” New Roof for Community By donating these materials Russell Roof Tiles has played a crucial role in restoring the Scout Hut, ensuring it can continue serving the South Cerney community for many more years. Nick Carey, commercial director at Wain Homes Severn Valley, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Russell Roof Tiles and their team for supplying us with their products to reroof such an important hub within our community. The assistance from the team in advising products and services was outstanding, as always, and we really look forward to working with Russell Roof Tiles in the future.” The successful completion of this project marks another milestone for Russell Roof Tiles. With the support of its customers, partners and suppliers, RRT has raised £168,000 over the past seven years for charity. The firm has hosted numerous fundraising events over the years, including its annual Big Quiz and charity golf tournaments. This year, through its community fund ‘Give 4 Good’, the manufacturer is aiming to raise £40,000 for community organisations local to its sites in Burton and Lochmaben. >> Read about more RRT projects in the news Previous article Roofers Added to UK Shortage Occupation ListNext article NARM Relaunches as The Rooflight Association Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
