Read the latest magazine Charity News Roof Donated to Help Renovate Animal Housing 26 April 2024 ONDULINE, the lightweight roofing systems specialist, has donated roofing solutions to help renovate the animal housing at Stepney City Farm in East London. The donation includes materials and labour to re-roof all of the farm’s animal buildings, providing a comfortable environment for the inhabitants and ensuring they are protected from the elements. New Roof for Animal Housing As part of Kingspan’s Planet Passionate Communities programme, a team from Onduline spent a day at the farm installing the roofing systems, as well as assisting with various farming tasks. In order to create a non-disruptive environment for the animals, the Onduline team opted to install corrugated roofing sheets as they are four times quieter than metal options, especially in challenging weather conditions. Stepney City Farm Stepney City Farm serves as a refuge for a diverse array of animals. The 4.5 acre site is a working farm which offers an educational programme that sees more than 5,000 children and young people benefit from funded classes, tours and projects each year. Paul Duffy, Onduline UK Managing Director, said: “At Onduline, we believe in the power of collaboration, supporting local charities and giving back to the communities where we operate. The team at Stepney City Farm carry out vital work and we are honoured to support their mission to promote high welfare, sustainable farming.” Clare Hawkins, CEO of Stepney City Farm, added: “We’re incredibly grateful for Onduline’s backing as we enhance our facilities.
