Read the latest magazine Featured Solutions Tools Push the Limits with Makita 9 March 2023 LEADING power tool manufacturer Makita has added more products to its impressive XGT collection, including a 40VMax Brushless Mixer and 40VMax Brushless Impact Driver. 40VMax UT001G XGT Brushless Mixer This heavy duty and highly durable mixer features a 220mm diameter blade with M8 thread and is the first mixer to join Makita’s powerful XGT battery platform. Specifically, the UT001G is equipped with Soft Start as a safety feature to minimise load from the rotation being transferred to the operator and to reduce the risk of materials being thrown up when mixing. In addition, it benefits from a two-speed mechanical gearbox to offer 0-500rpm in low-speed mode for mixing high viscous materials like concrete, and 0-920rpm in high-speed mode for mixing medium viscous materials such as mortar, plaster and paint. Not only that, but users can adjust the blade speed even more precisely to suit the material with the variable speed control dial if necessary, whilst the unique design of the blade allows it to be inverted so that a second mixing blade can be fitted to the shaft which helps when mixing larger volumes in deeper containers. Other key features include the anti-restart function, constant speed control, lock-on/lock-off function, and battery and switch covers, all of which contribute to creating a safe and robust power tool. For additional comfort, the UT001G has a double D-shaped handle with ergonomic soft grip, allowing the user to operate the tool with less fatigue. The machine has an M12 fitting as standard and comes supplied with an M14 adaptor, allowing a wider range of mixing blades to be fitted. 40VMax TD003G XGT Brushless Impact Driver This impressive power tool delivers up to 4,100 Impacts per minute, 210Nm Max Fastening Torque and a no-load speed of 3,700rpm – making this new product the company’s most powerful cordless impact driver yet. With 4-speed settings, the TD003G is packed with safety features, including constant speed control for consistent, smooth operation, an anti-restart function to minimise start up shock, overload protection, and an electric break. Additionally, it benefits from a trigger lock function, a reverse switch, as well as an LED job light with pre-glow and afterglow functions. Lightweight, comfortable and equipped with Assist-mode as well as a one-click tool-less collet so that impact bits can be inserted straight into the machine without having to pull back the chuck sleeve, this impact driver is designed for heavy duty power and is a must-have for professionals looking for a highly efficient power tool. Customers can also choose from a variety of additional accessories, such as the 10PC screw bit set, impact socket set, and a stylish tool bag to comfortably carry the entire set in. Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita, said: “We’re excited to introduce these new products to our expanding XGT collection. Each model has been designed to meet our customers’ needs, offering high power, performance and durability for the most demanding applications, all without the restraints of cords and cables.
