THE WINNERS of the 2024 NFRC Scottish Roofing Awards were crowned today, Friday 25 October, at The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.

A record 270 contractors, suppliers and merchants from across the Scottish region attended the event where celebrity host Tam Cowan presented the awards.

The Scottish Parliament recognised the awards, with MSP Carol Mochan congratulating Lee Liddington for winning the Scottish Young Roofer of the Year award.

In a motion submitted about the award, Carol Mochan said: “Lee has been recognised for his high level of skill in traditional roof slating, which combines his strong work ethic with technical skills and problem-solving abilities. It also recognises that his employer, DM Roofing & Roughcasting, in Kilmarnock, is a long-term supporter of roofing apprenticeships, having provided young people in the area with career opportunities for years, whilst promoting the industry as a career of choice to future generations.”

Carol visited a group of DM Roofing & Roughcasting apprentices in August.
