Now, the organisation is expanding by moving its offer to bigger premises in Gateshead, allowing them to extend the range of roof training available and with the aim of investing to be the best roof training provider in the north of England.

Roofing apprentices and trainees will receive expert tuition from Alan Bessford, who has extensive knowledge in roof training having previously delivered roofing NVQs as a Roofing Lecturer.

Alan will be delivering Level 2 Roof Slating and Tiling Standards courses, with the opportunity for students to progress on to Level 3 through On Site Assessment (OSAT).

Similarly, a Level 2  Built Up Felt Roofing will be offered, making the Optimum Academy the only training provider to offer Level 2 standards flat roofing training courses in the North East.

In addition, the Academy will offer OSAT route courses for experienced workers to gain roofing qualifications.

Alan Bessford said, “This is an exciting time for the North East where good quality training is hard to find. We are expecting high numbers of roofing apprentices and OSATs, as companies are now being made aware of what we have available and how we stand out from other training providers.”
