Read the latest magazine Industry News People New Appointment to Head IBMG’s Roofing Division 29 July 2024 INDEPENDENT Builders Merchant Group (IBMG) has appointed Adrian Tansley as divisional managing director for roofing. For the past three years, as the operations director for IBMG’s roofing division in the South, Tansley has overseen the smooth integration of Roofing Gear’s three branches; Independent Roofing Supplies’ three branches and MS Roofing’s five branches into the IBMG portfolio. A roofing veteran of 40 years, he is credited with being instrumental in the roofing division’s growth in recent years. Adrian Tansley is preceded in the post by Danny Spokes, who is now divisional managing director for IBMG’s South West build division. Allun Pittingale, COO of IBMG said: “I am delighted to announce that Adrian Tansley has been promoted to divisional managing director for roofing. “Adrian has ambitious plans for the roofing division, while also remaining pragmatic in his approach. He is highly regarded by branch managers throughout the IBMG branch network, respected by the senior team, and passionate about this business and its people. Head IBMG’s Roofing Division Adrian Tansley, from Wokingham, Berkshire, said: “With four decades in roofing, I am excited about the plans for further growth for IBMG’s roofing division. “A big part of this is developing and providing ambitious career paths for our people within this division. There is no doubt that we have a lot of talent in our ranks. “Together with our extensive network of roofing branches we will continue to provide roofers with our extensive range of roofing materials supported by our remarkable customer service.” IBMG is the largest owner of independent merchants in the South of England. Operating five core divisions: builders merchants; timber; electrical; roofing; plumbing & heating. It primarily serves trade customers. Its roofing division has 21 dedicated roofing branches accounting for £50million revenue. IBMG-owned branches extend from Penzance to Margate, East Anglia and north to the Midlands.
