NORTHERN BUILDING PLASTICS (NBP) has introduced a new twilight shift at its Hinckley Super Depot in a move to enhance service and efficiency, and meet increased customer demand.

With the team now working out of hours to fulfil orders, Northern Building Plastics says customers will see benefits including increased capacity, extended ordering times, and next-day delivery on orders placed up until 10pm, meaning more deliveries will arrive in the morning.

The Hinckley initiative follows the successful implementation of twilight shifts at NBP’s Super Depots in Leeds and Bolton – where the majority of deliveries are completed by 12 noon.

“By expanding our team to work through the evening and have all orders picked and ready to go, we significantly boost our output, allowing us to support our customers more effectively,” says Steve Jones, Sales Director at NBP.

“This move underlines our commitment to supporting the trade with early next-day nationwide delivery on 1000s of products – whenever and wherever required.

“Working out of normal hours enables us to have all vehicles fully loaded by the time the morning shift starts. Our drivers can then set off at 6.30am, getting more materials to more customers earlier in the day, so they can get to work.”

Jason Byers, Depot Manager at NBP Hinckley adds: “We hold £1 million of stock at the depot, and the twilight shift will take NBP capacity to new heights. Our customers have confidence we’ll deliver next-day and direct-to-site on thousands of products, and it’s this level of service that truly sets us apart from our competitors.”
