Read the latest magazine Industry News Merchants MKM Building Supplies Expands in Scotland with Spey Valley Acquisition 4 August 2021 MKM BUILDING SUPPLIES, the UK’s largest independent builders merchant, is expanding its presence in Scotland with the purchase of Spey Valley Timber & Builders Merchants. The acquisition follows a period of growth in Scotland, with new MKM branches in Inverness in July and Peterhead in September. The addition of Spey Valley gives MKM’s Scottish network to 17 branches. Founded in the 1980s, Spey Valley Timber & Builders Merchants is a locally owned independent business that supplies building materials, equipment and accessories to tradespeople throughout Aviemore and the wider Scottish Highlands. Kate Tinsley, CEO of MKM Building Supplies Limited, said: “The acquisition of Spey Valley Timber & Builders Merchants marks an important step forward for our operations in Scotland.
