Metrotile UK Acquired by Belgium Roof Tile Group

METROTILE UK, based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, has been acquired by the Belgium-based manufacturer of its products, Roof Tile Group (RoofTG).

Metrotile will continue to exclusively distribute their lightweight steel roofing systems across the UK, as well as gaining access to other RoofTG brands such as Decra, Tilcor and Gerard.

Metrotile directors, Elaine Hulbert, Barry Jordan and David Padmore will continue in their roles overseeing day to day operations. Metrotile UK founder and former managing director John Cunningham, has left the company.

Metrotile’s lightweight steel roofing systems are used in a variety of applications, including conservatory solid roof conversions and modular homes including those manufactured by Ilke Homes and the new Barrett Homes Z House.

In a joint statement, Metrotile directors, Elaine Hulbert, Barry Jordan and David Padmore said: “We are pleased to announce that the acquisition of Metrotile UK Ltd has now completed and we have become part of the Roof Tile Group which incorporates over nine lightweight metal tile manufacturers across the world, with names like Metrotile and Decra now under one roof.

“This brings more stability to the company and also more technical and research and development in the products across the world. The directors and staff are looking forward to the future with the new owners. The UK operation will stay as Metrotile UK giving the same quality service and technical help across the UK.”

The new Metrotile (UK) owners, RoofTG distributes its steel roof tiles products to more than 150 countries.

The sale of Metrotile (UK) was negotiated by Harbourside Corporate Finance LLP.
