The HQ will function as offices for The Association of Master Roofers and Master Roofers UK (MRUK) and forms the main UK training facility for the organisation’s work teaching the next generation of roofers. New Runcorn HQ The new facility will offer a variety of courses such as lead welding and bossing, slating and tiling, and lead fabricating. The academy will host around 300 trainees per year, with classes being kept deliberately small to ensure student engagement. Trainees will come from all over the UK and even further afield, with students from Belgium and Australia already registered this year. All of the lead for the Master Roofers Training Academy will be provided by Midland Lead as part of a new partnership with MRUK which will see the lead sheet manufacturer involved in all things related to lead training and technical development. Stewart Rowles, Head of Training at the Master Roofers Training Academy, said: “This has been a goal for the business for many years and we have finally got to the stage where we can begin expanding what we do. “[The Runcorn HQ] is set to be our most ambitious build to date with some massive plans in the training area. “We’ve not long had the keys so there is a lot more to show in the coming weeks.” Training Scope The new Runcorn facility will house 1500ft of office, student and conference space for external companies within the roofing industry to use for meetings, CPDs and class-based training. Alongside this, there is a 5000ft training area with scope for manufacturers to hire as a training location for installer training, CPDs or meetings. For more information on using the training space or if you would like to book any training for operatives in slating and tiling, leadwork or hard metals, email training@masterroofers.co.uk. >> Read more about MRUK in the news Previous article Plant Hire Company Fined after Employee Struck by Falling JCB BucketNext article Expanded EJOT DDS-Z Range Simplifies Installation of Deeper Soffit Liners Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch
