Marshalls Notice of Trading Update Including Marley Performance

MARSHALLS plc has given notice of half year results, which includes an update on the performance of its recent acquisition, Marley.

Revenue for the half year ended 30 June 2022 was £348 million (2021: £298 million), which represents year on year growth of 17 per cent, and includes revenue from Marshall’s recent acquisition of roof tile manufacturer, Marley, in April 2022.

On a like for like basis, Marshalls Group revenue growth was 7%. Within this, Marshalls reports that Marley has traded strongly in the first two full months of Marshalls’ ownership, and its integration into the Group is progressing in line with the internal plans they put in place at the time of the Marley acquisition.

The Marshalls board also confirmed that its expectations for the Group for the current financial year are in line with market expectations.

Marshalls will announce its half year results for the six months ended 30 June 2022 in August. Following the acquisition of Marley, Marshalls will now report under three segments starting from the publication of its 2022 half year results:

• Marshalls Landscape Products
• Marshalls Building Products
• Marley Roofing Products

Alongside this new reporting format, Marshalls says it will present details of the end markets served by each segment, which will include roofing, to illustrate the enlarged Group’s increased coverage of construction sub sectors.

Marley Site Tour

Marshalls is planning a Capital Markets Day for investors and analysts on 22 September 2022 at its Marley site in Burton upon Trent. The day will comprise an update on the Group’s five-year strategy, including details on the Marley acquisition, together with a tour of the site.

Established in the late 1880s, Marshalls plc is a manufacturer of natural stone and concrete hard landscaping products, supplying the construction, home improvement and landscape markets.

Following the acquisition of Marley, the Group is now also a manufacturer and supplier of pitched roofing systems, including clay and concrete tiles, timber battens, roof integrated solar solutions and roofing accessories.

The Group operates its own quarries and manufacturing sites in the UK, including a national network of manufacturing and distribution sites, and has operations in Belgium and sales representation in other international markets.
