The guttering solution was chosen for its durability and aesthetic value, as well as its high drainage capacity. Paul Wickstead, Director at Wickstead Developments, was responsible for the development of the property in Childwall – about four miles from Liverpool city centre. He and architecture practice RAL sought a design that would complement the leafy suburban environment and would fit in with the surrounding buildings. Paul commented: “I have had positive experiences working with Marley Alutec in the past, and its products suit the sharp modern architectural style that the client and the architects were after.” As such, when he brought the team at RAL on board they put forward a design that included Marley Alutec’s Evolve Deepflow Guttering and Circular Flushfit Downpipes. It also included the company’s Evoke composite aluminium fascia and soffit, while further Evoke panels were specified to create a clad feature band on two levels of the façade. Evolve Deepflow “Our Associate Director Stephen Lavin opted to specify the Evolve Deepflow Guttering and Circular Flushfit Downpipes due to their high drainage capacity, which would be able to deal effectively with regular rainfall,” commented Federica Manzo, Architectural Assistant from RAL. “The durability and the aesthetics of the guttering and fascia system were also very important. High quality aluminium products like these have a far better appearance than PVCu and are also resistant to fading, ensuring they will retain their aesthetic long term.” Marley Alutec’s Evolve Deepflow is a 128 x 75mm rainwater gutter system that has a flow rate of up to 4.9 l/s and 232m2 per downpipe. The 76mm Circular Flushfit Downpipes are ideal for modern building designs and have internal joints, enabling a sleek external appearance. Marley Alutec Guttering Solutions All Marley Alutec products are manufactured from marine-grade aluminium, meaning they have a functional life expectancy of 50+ years with minimal maintenance. This is partly due to the protective oxide layer that naturally forms on the surface if the aluminium is damaged, which means that the material is resistant to corrosion. To improve the colour stability further, all systems are available with an architectural grade polyester powder coat (PPC) paint finish. Out of the 19 colour options to choose from, the guttering, fascia, soffit and Evoke cladding were all specified in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), enhancing the striking aesthetic of the property. The guttering solution was successfully installed by Paul and his team. Paul concluded: “All the Alutec products were simple to use and easy to install, due in part to their light weight. We were able to cut and form the Evoke aluminium panels on site for the cladding, which was ideal. The feature bands add a striking touch to the exterior of the building and, because they are the same product, match perfectly with the soffits and fascias. Evoke is such a versatile product – I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.” For more information on Marley Alutec, please visit the Marley Alutec website. >> Read more about Marley Alutec products in the news Previous article Payroll MD Slams Foreign Roofer Recruitment as Waste of TimeNext article CUPA 12 Provides Striking Solution for a Contemporary Family Home in a Conservation Area Share article You may also like View all News Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Featured Solutions +4 19 March 2026 Glidevale Protect Rolls Out Printed Roofing Membrane Guidance Featured Solutions +3 3 March 2026 Makita Launches Limited-Time XGT Battery Redemption Featured Solutions +5 26 February 2026 Precision Liquid Waterproofing Delivers Heritage Roof Refurbishment Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
