Manthorpe Supports New Roofing Talent with Products and Visits

MANTHORPE BUILDING PRODUCTS, the UK-based manufacturer and supplier of building products, is supporting several roofing training colleges across the country.

Newcastle College, Optimum Training Centre, Leeds College of Building, and Derwentside College have all benefited from Manthorpe’s donations of a wide variety of products. The materials will provide the students with hands-on learning experiences and practical skills in the construction industry, while also promoting the use of high-quality products.

As well as offering product donations, Manthorpe has recently welcomed Leeds College of Building to its production facility and Customer Experience Centre which not only showcases installed products, but allows customers to understand their main features, and talk with experts.

Ideas to Reality

Manthorpe’s in-house research and development team designs and develops new products within a stone’s throw of the manufacturing plant, allowing the students to see how ideas are turned into actual product solutions.

The team also delivered sessions on topics such as the importance of adequate roof space ventilation, and dry fix systems all of which were intended to enhance the student’s knowledge and ongoing learning.

Supporting New Roofing Talent

Dale Yates, tutor at Leeds College of Building, said, “It is always an honour to be working closely with companies such as Manthorpe Building Products allowing us to have such great products readily available for our future generation of roofers at LCB. In return, this certainly has a positive effect, also, feedback from all our apprentices is fantastic due to them having a wide range of material available, along with other professionals passing on their own valuable knowledge within their specialist subject.

“I have been working for LCB as a roof slating and tiling tutor for just over two years now, and in this time the courses have significantly improved thanks to businesses such as Manthorpe Building Products. We are now currently running with three full-time tutors myself, David Mallory, Patrick Heptinstall, along with an extremely supportive manager, Lee Bogg, who are all also passionate about supporting and developing new talent in the sector.
