Kobir Ahamed, who joined the company in June, brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective, following a distinguished career at the UK’s Foreign Office. He will be responsible for the relaunching of BriggsAmasco’s sustainability strategy. This will include working closely with the existing supply chain to collate Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) by 2025 on all company systems, giving customers clearer insights into the lifecycle carbon performance of roofing materials. Carbon Literate Organisation He also aims to publish the company’s complete sustainability strategy in early 2025, detailing achievements in fuel usage, waste management, biodiversity impact and more. He will also lead efforts to achieve Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) accreditation. This is a milestone that he believes, will set BriggsAmasco apart as the first UK roofing and waterproofing contractor to earn such recognition. Education and employee engagement are also at the heart of Kobir’s approach. He is collaborating with the Carbon Literacy Project, a global initiative that trains employees to adopt carbon-saving behaviours. As a result, from January 2025, BriggsAmasco will roll out Carbon Literacy training for all its staff, a move Kobir believes could reduce the company’s emissions by up to 15%. “The courses empower people to make changes from the ground up,” Kobir Ahamed said. “A small shift in behaviour can result in significant carbon savings, making a real difference to our overall environmental impact.” Kobir is already thriving in his new role, reporting directly to the company’s Finance Director, Managing Director and Chairman – and says that it is more than just a job – it’s a personal mission. “Sustainability roles attract people who genuinely want to make a difference,” Kobir Ahamed added. “Reducing our environmental impact is not just about today – it’s about safeguarding the future for generations to come. This planet is all we have and it’s up to us to protect it.” As the BriggsAmasco Sustainability Manager, Kobir is determined to lead the way to greener pastures with a blend of determination, innovation and a clear vision for the future. Equally as important, his appointment underscores the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of sustainable practices in the roofing and waterproofing industry. >> Read more about BriggsAmasco in the news Previous article IKO Partners with Simian Supporting the Next Generation of Roofing ProfessionalsNext article Enhancing Roofing Safety and the Role of Workwear Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
