Read the latest magazine Industry News Solar Sustainability Kingspan Forms Partnership with LONGi for Global Energy Transition 17 July 2024 KINGSPAN GROUP PLC, a building solutions provider, and solar manufacturer LONGi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd are collaborating to integrate advanced solar technology with innovative building materials. The partnership aims to pave the way for more sustainable construction and energy solutions. Kingspan and LONGi have agreed to bring together their technologies to develop Integrated (BIPV) and Applied (BAPV) third-party, insurance-tested solar PV systems. The integration may also lead to joint manufacturing and marketing in the future. The partnership aims to contribute towards supporting customers with compatible tested systems which help achieve their net zero energy targets in the construction sector. Kingspan Forms Partnership with LONGi Gene Murtagh, CEO of Kingspan, said: “Kingspan is excited to partner with LONGi. Their innovative solar technology, combined with our building solutions, will redefine what it means to build sustainably.” Kingspan has operations across 212 manufacturing facilities in over 80 countries globally. Zhong Baoshen, Chairman of LONGi, said: “This partnership with Kingspan marks a significant step in LONGi’s journey towards a more sustainable world. Together, our respective technologies will allow our customers to not only conserve energy, but to create it by harnessing the power of the sun.” Founded in 2000, LONGi has established five business sectors, covering mono silicon wafers cells and modules, commercial & industrial distributed solar solutions, green energy solutions and hydrogen equipment.
