Stanley-based, roofing, building maintenance and security products specialist, Hodgson Sayers, has appointed Aaron Elliott and David Spence as contracts managers and Will Wigham as assistant quantity surveyor. With a strong order book and a growing portfolio of contracts in both the public and private sectors, Hodgson Sayers operates across the North of England and the Midlands, where it has a base in Nottingham. Established in 1979, the 100-strong firm has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and its commitment to social value. Key Appointments Aaron Elliott, from Newton Aycliffe, specialises in heritage work and has taken the lead on a significant Grade I listed restoration project at Woodlands Hall, Knitsley, Consett. During his career, he has worked on a number of high-profile historic sites, including Durham Castle, Durham Cathedral and Beamish Hall Hotel. His knowledge of traditional construction methods and conservation principles will help drive the delivery of specialist roofing and restoration contracts. Aaron will also further support the firm’s work in pitched roofing. Aaron said: “One of the reasons I was attracted to Hodgson Sayers is because of the high standards the business sets. It’s the most thorough company I’ve worked for in terms of compliance and health and safety and there’s real depth in the team. “There’s also great support in terms of training and development. I’m keen to expand my experience in pitched roofing and I’ll be undertaking further product and industry training so I can take on more of these projects going forward.” Contracts Management Joining Aaron in the contracts management team is David Spence, from Quarrington Hill, Durham, who brings a wealth of experience to the business and will oversee a number of key projects. David said: “From day one I could see how well organised the company is. “There’s a clear commitment to doing things properly and a real sense of purpose that runs through the whole team. Hodgson Sayers is growth orientated with a clear direction and I’m looking forward to helping deliver that strategy through our projects on the ground.” Supporting the Team Will Wigham, from Wallsend, North Tyneside, joins as assistant quantity surveyor and will be supporting the team across a wide range of contracts. His appointment is part of the company’s continued investment in early career roles and technical progression. It delivers a wide range of services including roofing, civils and building maintenance, heritage conservation and security products and systems. Growing and Diversifying John Sayers, Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome David, Aaron and Will to the team. Each brings a different skill set and perspective to the business which is exactly what we need as we continue to grow and diversify. “As we continue to take on increasingly complex and specialised projects, it’s important we strengthen the team to make sure we deliver the highest quality and value for our clients. These appointments are an important part of that journey.” >> Read more about Hodgson Sayers in the news Previous article Building Safety Regulator Reforms to Accelerate HousebuildingNext article Roofing Materials Supplier Bolsters Sales Team Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
