The Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA) 2026 Technical Conference will officially take place on 10-11 June.

The event will once again provide a platform for industry experts to examine the key challenges and innovations shaping the immediate future of the metal building envelope supply chain.

Reflecting the growing popularity of the event, the association has doubled the capacity this year to enable more representatives from member companies to attend.

The format of the conference, which this year is sponsored by AJS Consulting, Fixing Point, Hambleside Danelaw and Steadmans, has been designed to ensure that a diverse range of industry topics can be analysed and discussed over two days. This includes a mix of formal presentations and panel discussions led mainly by independent experts, along with contributions by technical specialists from within the membership.

Since 2024, the Technical Conference has become an annual highlight of the industry calendar, with attendees valuing its technical focus and the insights provided to help them navigate the unprecedented change affecting the sector.  The aim for the event is to not only provide expert guidance and learning opportunities but also provide valuable opportunities for informal conversations and networking to take place amongst members, the Association says.

This year’s agenda will cover everything from how recent industry changes and recommendations affecting steel construction are being implemented in practice, and the fundamentals of fire engineering in façade design, to the full project lifecycle from a main contractor perspective, and how digitisation is transforming construction.

Carlton Jones, Director of the MCRMA said: “This year’s Technical Conference will build on the successful events of the last two years, with a number of excellent speakers confirmed who can provide independent perspectives on many of the biggest issues affecting our industry.

“Once again, the conference will be at full capacity even with a doubling of numbers, which is fantastic to see and reflects the strong appetite from members at all stages of the metal building envelope supply chain to have the opportunity to develop and share their knowledge and build stronger relationships with others in the sector.”

The Technical Conference is primarily designed for representatives of MCRMA member companies, who can attend at a heavily discounted rate as part of their membership, with a very limited number of spaces available for non-members.

The full conference agenda is due to be confirmed in the coming weeks, but already includes sessions by David Brown of SCI (Steel Construction Institute); Camille Destres, Director, Safer Building Design at BB7; Nick Jenkins, Technical Facades Manager at Sir Robert McAlpine; and Dr. Shamir Ghumra, Executive Director at NHS Property Services.
