The award will recognise a market-ready innovation that is already making a tangible difference in the built environment. With entries open until Friday 28 August, the judges will assess submissions from growth-ready start-ups and small businesses before the winner is revealed live at London Build in November. Judges Revealed The panel brings together experts spanning modern methods of construction, engineering, housebuilding and sustainability media including: Quentin Farrow, Managing Director of HybridMMC, who has spent more than five years advancing sustainable and biobased modern methods of construction (MMC) to improve project efficiency and environmental impact. His work centres on collaborating with manufacturers, SME developers and self-builders to implement innovative Hybrid Building Systems, alongside overseeing supply chain logistics, pre-construction and project management. Chris Hall, Technical Innovation Manager at the National House Building Council (NHBC), brings a perspective grounded in new-build housing quality and standards, drawing on NHBC’s role across the UK housebuilding sector. Andrew Gaved, Editor-at-Large at London Build, a specialist journalist with around 25 years covering heating, cooling, energy and the wider built environment, and a well-known voice in the industry’s conversation on the route to net zero. Julie Bregulla, Chief Operating Officer at the BBA, a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Fellow of both the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Institution of Civil Engineers, with a PhD in structural fire engineering. Before joining the BBA, she spent 17 years at the Building Research Establishment and held a director and professor role at TEDI-London. Further judges may be confirmed ahead of the award, the BBA says. Katy Roberts, Director of Sales, Marketing and Commercial at the BBA, commented: “The strength of this panel reflects what the award is really about. We wanted people who understand innovation from every angle, from the factory floor and the building site to the standards that give the industry confidence. “Each judge brings a different lens, but they share the belief that a good idea only earns its place once it can be trusted and built with. I am looking forward to seeing what this year’s entrants put in front of the panel.” Enter Now There is still time to enter. The award is open to growth-ready start-ups and small businesses that are the original developers of a sustainable, innovative construction product already in production. Entries close on Friday 28 August 2026. Full criteria and entry are available here. The winner will be revealed live on the Sustainability Stage at London Build 2026 at 16:50 on Wednesday 25 November, at Excel London, where one of the judges will share practical insight into bringing innovative products to market. Entry to London Build is free to register. >> Read about more awards & events in the news Previous article How to Reduce Glare and Heat Gain in Polycarbonate Roof SpacesNext article Construction Insolvencies Creep Up Again in July Share article You may also like View all News Apprenticeships +3 5 October 2026 Derbyshire Roofing Company Recognised at Apprenticeships Awards Awards and Events +2 1 October 2026 Scottish Roofing Awards 2026 Finalists Announced Apprenticeships +4 28 September 2026 BMI AOTY Finalists Reveal Their Competition Experiences Check out the latest issue 126 September-October 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch
