Important HR Changes Coming in 2022

IF YOU ARE A small business owner its important that you’re aware of the HR changes that will be taking place throughout 2022 on several employment related issues.

The core HR changes in 2022 are taking place with the following:

Changes to Right to Work checks

From the 6 April 2022 the right to work check of those who hold a biometric residence card (BRC), biometric residence permit (BRP) or a frontier worker permit (FWP) can ONLY be done online.

Managing the additional Bank Holiday

There will be an additional Bank Holiday in 2022 to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee meaning that the Spring Bank Holiday will move to Thursday 2nd June.

Changing to National Minimum Wage

In April there will be change to the compulsory national living wage which is the lowest amount that can be legally paid to an employee in several age categories, up to those who are over 23 years of age.

Changes to the Statutory Sick Pay Rebate scheme

From mid-January 2022 the government will be reintroducing the Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme. This is in response to the high numbers of individuals who are currently affected by the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.
