The Insulation Manufacturers Association (IMA) is hosting a webinar to help building professionals understand what to look for, and what to question, when assessing whole-life carbon and fabric-first insulation strategies.

The webinar on Thursday 22 October at 11am will examine how insulation specification decisions should be assessed within the context of whole-building performance, rather than through isolated product comparisons, and what this means in practice for designers, specifiers and installers navigating increasing regulatory scrutiny of carbon claims.

Whole-Life Carbon Assessment

The session will draw on IMA’s whole-life carbon research carried out by XCO2, exploring what it reveals about assessing insulation specification within the context of the building.

Speakers will include Marc Walsh, Product Management & Development Engineer at Unilin Insulation, and Tom Raftery, Sustainability and PV Manager at Bauder, who will share technical and sustainability perspectives from their respective areas of the industry. The session will be moderated by Simon Storer, Chief Executive of IMA.

Simon Storer, Chief Executive of IMA, said: “Carbon comparisons in the construction sector are becoming more common but too many decisions are still being made on data that hasn’t been properly interrogated. This webinar will provide the opportunity to hear directly from people working through these challenges day to day, and to ask the questions that matter before they find themselves relying on a figure they can’t fully verify.”
