Read the latest magazine Green Roofs Industry News Green Roof Terraces at London Hill House Approved 10 April 2024 A STRIKING new office scheme at 1 Little New Street which features green roof terraces and a rooftop for community events has gained approval. The City of London Corporation Planning Applications Sub-Committee approved the plans for Hill House saying they offer a wide range of public benefits, including upgrades for Shoe Lane Library and biodiversity gains for the area. Striking Green Roof Terraces The Hill House proposals will provide a unique design with cascading stepped green landscaped terraces. The 57,000m2 building will offer grade A office space to accommodate around 3,000 people. Shoe Lane Library will be moved from the basement, to ground level, with a more prominent entrance. A number of new facilities for the library are planned. Not least is the exclusive use of the 18th storey top floor rooftop for amenities and community events, offering views of the city. Coupled with the building’s green terraces are plans to plant 28 new street trees and increase public realm space.
