GBS Roofing Announces Charity Partnership with Dementia NI

ANTRIM-BASED GBS ROOFING has joined forces with Dementia NI to help the charity raise funds, increase awareness and drive positive change for people living with dementia across Northern Ireland.

Over the next 12 months, the GBS Roofing team will undertake a series of fundraising events, starting next month with the Belfast City Marathon. A relay team of five runners from GBS Roofing will race against the Managing Director as he runs the full 26.2 mile course.

GBS Roofing Managing Director, Barry Maris, said: “In choosing a charity to support for the year, we were immediately drawn to Dementia NI. Today, almost everyone knows a person living with, or caring for a family member, with dementia.

“This small, local charity founded by individuals living with dementia is driving improvements in the standard of treatment available and ensuring that people with dementia are consulted about decisions relating to their care. With more than 20,000 people currently living with dementia in Northern Ireland – and the number expected to double by 2040 – this is no small task.

“At GBS Roofing, we believe the efforts of this great charity  should be applauded and we are proud to focus our annual fundraising efforts on this worthy cause.”
