Read the latest magazine Industry News Fortis Vision is Latest Building a Safer Future Champion 9 September 2024 FORTIS VISION has become the most recent organisation to be awarded Building a Safer Future Champion status. The designation recognises the company’s commitment to continuous improvement in building safety leadership and culture. An industry initiative that emerged after the Grenfell disaster, Building a Safer Future (BSF) was established to create a positive culture and behaviour change in building safety. Based on proven approaches it offers tools to support organisations to improve their building safety leadership and culture. Building a Safer Future Champion Fortis Vision is a nationwide refurbishment contractor founded in 2018, with offices in Durham, Essex, Bristol and Bedfordshire. The company has completed two Champion assessment modules: Leadership and Culture and Corroborating Elements. Fortis Vision says the experience provided detailed insight and extensive information and tools to assist them in making improvements to their building safety policies and processes. It also gave them in-depth analysis and external validation of their current position. Steve Elliott, Non-Executive Chair of Building a Safer Future, said: “I am delighted to congratulate Fortis Vision on their new BSF Champion status. I applaud their accomplishment in completing the assessment, and highly encourage other organisations working in the built environment sector to follow their lead and apply for the process.” BSF is a non-profit organisation first run by the Considerate Constructors Scheme and now independently established. Organisations that have achieved Building a Safer Future Champion status include: Barratt Developments Plc; Galliford Try; Hill Holdings Ltd; Langley UK Ltd; Martin Arnold Ltd; Persimmon Homes Ltd; and Salix Homes, amongst others. Nikki Todd, Managing Director of Fortis Vision, added: “Fortis Vision is extremely proud to have achieved BSF Champion Status.
