Read the latest magazine Industry News Fly-Tipping Roofers Fined 20 February 2019 A ROOFING company has been fined £630 for fly-tipping its construction waste next to a field in Lockinge, near Wantage, Oxfordshire. On 20 August 2018, two employees of Oxford-based Principle Homes Development Limited, were seen unloading a pile of bricks and wood from a white van at the entrance to a field in Grove Park Drive. The witness recorded the registration plate of the van, which was then traced back to Principle Homes. Waste Warning Five months prior to the incident, the company had been warned that they needed a waste carrier licence to operate, but it failed to pay for one. A company representative said both men have since been sacked and another employee returned to the location to remove and dispose of the waste properly. The company has also since paid for a waste carrier licence. The company’s director pleaded guilty to one charge of fly-tipping and one charge of failing to hold a waste carrier licence.
