Flagship Roofing Merchant’s Branch Opens with Drive Through Facility

THE LATEST Chandlers Roofing Supplies’ flagship store in Guildford features a drive through facility, designed to help the roofing merchant’s customers stay covid secure.

The drive through facility allows customers to order materials and collect them without stepping foot inside the branch, instead driving up into a covered area where their transport can be loaded quickly in the dry and without leaving their van cab. The new drive through area means that the Guildford branch doesn’t see a reduction in transactions on wet days.

Biggest branch

Following a multi-million pound investment, the 17,500 sq foot new Chandlers Roofing Supplies branch in Peasmarsh is the largest of its kind in the region. The huge new warehouse and yard can stock more than 600 roofing products, making it one of the largest roofing merchant sites in the South East.

Danny Spokes, Director of Chandlers Roofing Supplies, said: “We actually aren’t seeing a decrease in customers visiting the branches to collect orders in spite of Covid-19, which I think is down to the vast square footage of the branch. As well as allowing for social distancing, it also enables the branch to house a wide range of stock and the latest products.

“The Guildford branch is currently reporting on average, 75% of daily transactions are collections as opposed to deliveries and half of the collections take place between 7am – 9am.”

Refer a mate

All Chandlers Roofing Supplies branches are running a ‘refer a mate’ campaign.

Anyone who opens a new trading account receives a £25 voucher to spend in branch and another £25 voucher if they refer someone that goes on to open an account.

Grand opening for charity

The grand opening of the Guildford branch was dedicated to raising money for two charities. Jamie Costigan, Chandlers Roofing Supplies Branch Manager said: “Our opening event was all about raising money for two worthy charities: Teenage Cancer Trust and Sussex Air Ambulance. Our fundraising efforts will continue throughout October.”

It’s not only fundraising that will be ongoing in the flagship branch. Danny Spokes, Director of Chandlers Roofing Supplies, said: “There’s plenty on offer with special promotions and trade days running for the first few weeks as well as a number of fun initiatives to help raise funds for our selected charities. Last year we raised in excess of £150,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, so are looking to beat, or at least match, that record this year!”

The Guildford branch joins the newly opened Chandlers Roofing Supplies’ Leatherhead branch. A further new branch will open in Rye East Sussex bringing the number of Chandlers Roofing Supplies branches to nine operating from the Midlands to the South East.
