Fixings Distributor Helps Students Prepare for a Career in the Trades

Samac Fixings is supporting Colchester Institute’s Wood Occupations Department through a number of donations, including screws, fixings, drill bits and workshop essentials used in hands-on learning.

Building Practical Skills

The further education college in Essex helps students and apprentices build the practical skills and confidence they need as they prepare for careers in the trades. Used by learners across FE and apprenticeship courses, the donated materials help give students experience with the kinds of products and practical tasks they are likely to come across as they move into the industry.

Chris Coe, Area Head for Trowel Trades & Wood Occupations at Colchester Institute, said: “We’re very grateful for the continued support from Samac Fixings. Having access to quality products makes a real difference to our learners, helping them build confidence, develop practical understanding and work to the standards expected within the industry.”

Training the Next Generation

Samac Fixings has made four donations to Colchester Institute since last October, as part of an ongoing partnership between the business and the college’s trade training.
