FIVE MORE COMPANIES have been chosen to lead the UK construction drive to hit net zero, as the world convenes in Scotland for COP26.

The five companies are the latest cohort of the Construction Leadership Council’s CO2nstructZero Business Champions. The CO2nstructZero programme was launched earlier this year to unify the UK construction sector in its efforts to cut carbon.

The new Business Champions are:

    • Accelar
    • FES Support Services
    • J Murphy & Sons
    • John Sisk & Son
    • Reds 10

The new names mean that there are now more than 50 companies across the UK that have been chosen as Business Champions. Business Champions each make commitments to help the sector’s drive towards reducing carbon emissions in the delivery and operation of the built environment.

Business Champions will work alongside the CLC and other major industry bodies to share innovations and best practice, acting as promotors and role models to support their supply chain to move to Net Zero Carbon.

Andy Mitchell, CLC Co-Chair

CLC Co-chair Andy Mitchell said: “I’m delighted to welcome our latest cohort of Business Champions. There has never been greater attention on carbon reduction, and we know the built environment will play a huge role in cutting global carbon. As COP26 gets underway it is brilliant that our sector is stepping up and showing leadership on the road to net zero.”
