Read the latest magazine Skills & Training Eastern Roof Training Providing Funded NVQs 1 August 2020 AS PART OF the Regional Subsidy provided by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), Eastern Roof Training Group is now offering its members part-funded NVQs. The funding means that roofing contractors can get £200 off each NVQ qualification capped at a maximum of £1,250 of funding per company. The subsidy is in place to encourage roofing contractors in the East region to get their workforce qualified. An NVQ is a lifetime qualification that is recognized nationally, and it shows that the candidate has demonstrated competence in their discipline of roofing to Level 2 standard. The NVQ also enables the holder to gain the CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card. Roofing Training Eastern Roof Training offers Level 2 NVQs in: Slate & Tiling Single Ply Roofing Built up Bituminous Roofing Liquid Applied Roofing Sheet & Cladding Roofing The NVQs are assessed on site, through observation and collection of video evidence amongst other forms of evidence, meaning there is minimal disruption to work being carried out.
