Read the latest magazine Industry News Roof Tiles East Ayrshire Re-Roofed in ‘Vital’ Upgrade Project 2 September 2022 RUSSELL ROOF Tiles recently supplied sustainable concrete roof tiles to support the vital re-roofing of a social housing project in East Ayrshire, Scotland. The significant upgrade project has been delivered by A.C. Whyte, who are an energy efficiency contractor in the major refurbishment of social housing for Local Authorities and Housing Associations across Scotland and the UK, and most recently for East Ayrshire Council. The project comprises of re-roofing, rendering, and upgrading around 240 houses in the East Ayrshire area. Russell Roof Tiles was keen to support this social housing project which has benefitted the local community, having supplied its Double Roman tiles, a standard profile roof tile with a small round roll. The tile provides thermal insulation from heat, especially in the summer months and works against snow and ice accumulation, and helps retain heat during colder weather. Alan Young, Regional Sales Director at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “This extensive re-roofing project has given many homes across East Ayrshire a much-needed lift.
