It’s the first time the Newcastle based multi-discipline roofing contractor has been appointed to this framework, although DVC Roofing has a long-established track record of undertaking public sector work. Managing Director of DVC Commercial Roofing Contractors, Darren Van-Cliff [pictured] said, “Winning this tender was a lovely end to a very challenging 2021. We’re delighted that going into 2022 we have secured work from which we can continue to grow the business.” Framework Appointment Kirklees Council put the £3-4 million framework out to tender in 2021. The council is one of five West Yorkshire local authorities and the 13th largest local authority in the UK covering 157 square miles, including the two major towns of Huddersfield and Dewsbury. Tenders for the framework were evaluated on price (60%) and quality (40%). DVC Roofing had to meet the criteria for site safety, communication management, and staff knowledge and experience. The business was awarded the framework with an overall score of 98% across the criteria. Darren Van-Cliff adds: “Our company values align with those of Kirklees Council and it is precisely these values that we believe helped us score so highly on the tender criteria.” Scope of Works Combining both flat and pitched roofing, the framework specification covers all commercial buildings such as leisure buildings, schools, and corporate offices. Pitched roofs will utilise a variety of new and reclaimed slates, whilst flat roofs will utilise modified bitumen warm roof systems. DVC Commercial Roofing Contractors is a family run business founded in 1995, offering both flat and pitched roofing. The company is a member of the NFRC, LRWA and SPRA. The company has recently opened a Manchester office providing the capacity to deliver projects of any size across the United Kingdom. >>Read more roofing contractor news Previous article South West Roofing Training Group Apprentice Accolade in BMI Apprentice of the YearNext article Self-Employed Tradespeople Get Record Pay Rates Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 20 March 2026 RA Issues Revised Safety Guidance on Rooflight Covers Awards and Events +3 20 March 2026 The Great British Slate Off Returns for 2026 Green Roofs +3 20 March 2026 Swansea Joins Global Network of Biophilic Cities Featured Solutions +3 19 March 2026 Flush Fitting Rooflights by Clement Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
