Developing Industry Competence – Online Seminar

AN ONLINE seminar discussing the proposed Construction Product Competence Standard ensuring workers are competent to use products will take place on Thursday 1 December from 1.30pm – 2.30pm.

Open to all, the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) is encouraging everyone interested to register for the seminar.

Construction Product Competence Standard

As stated in the recently released white paper proposing a construction product competence standard:

“The misuse of construction products can lead to dangerous and potentially fatal outcomes. The competence of those using construction products is vital to ensure that buildings and the built environment are safe, efficient and perform as required”.

As part of the work of the Competence Steering Group (CSG), WG12 Construction Products Competence (which SPRA participates in), has been tasked to create a solution that ensures all those using construction products are competent to do so, and can demonstrate their competence to others.

Online Seminar

This seminar hosted by the SPRA and delivered by Hanna Clarke, Digital and Policy Manager at the Construction Products Association and Co-Chair of WG12, and Matthew Sexton AIoR TIFireE, Director of Systems Development and Compliance at BMI Group, will explain the background and content of the proposed standard as outlined in the white paper and how it affects you.

The SPRA is encouraging all SPRA manufacturers and contractor members to send at least one representative from their organisations to this important event.
