Contribute to Shape the Digitalisation of the Construction Products Sector

RESEARCH COMMISSIONED by the government’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has started, to help shape the future of digitising the construction product market.

Now, stakeholders are being invited to take part in a survey to contribute to evidence on the topic.

The OPSS, part of the Department for Business and Trade, wants to find out how to best prepare the UK for future trade, particularly in light of upcoming changes to EU regulation and the anticipated introduction of digital construction product passports. This will support efforts to prevent untraceable and non-compliant products from entering the UK market.

Camrosh, have been commissioned with conducting the research project called: Research into the Digitalisation of the Construction Products Sector.

The aim of this research is to address the gaps in OPSS’ evidence base regarding knowledge of how to put data into a digital form, how to make the digitised information work and creating new applications for the data across the construction product industry.

The research project is in two parts, a literature review which finds out what is known already and stakeholder engagement through survey and interviews.

Taking part in the survey will help shape decision making at the OPSS as they develop future standards and regulation in the construction industry.

The survey will help OPSS to capture industry needs and views to directly inform the research being carried out. This will, in turn, help create regulation that ensures construction products are safe and that the industry is supported in trading successfully.
