Train the Trainers The Train the Trainers initiative launched in late April by the NRTG is delivering training to experienced roofing professionals to qualify them to, in turn, offer roof training to industry. Fully funded courses are booked for June and July with more planned later in the year. The collaborative roof training group Train the Trainers courses are aimed at helping to tackle the chronic skills shortage faced in the roofing industry. This issue is one of the most pressing facing roof training group members and has been identified as a contributory factor in holding back growth for many businesses in the sector. Recognised Need NRTG Vice Chair Denise Cherry said, “There is a long term recognised need for more trainers in the industry, and it’s really great to see federations, training groups and providers all working together and supporting this course. “The demand has been such that we have immediately commissioned two more of these courses leading to Level 3 Award in Education and Training, and we hope that this will support the growth of quality roofing training across the UK. “It’s equally good to see the range of applicants, and that this programme can benefit trainers from manufacturers of roofing products, training centres, in-company trainers, and individuals exploring training as a career change. As more people in the industry become more skilled in understanding and delivering the training process, the opportunities for both new entrants and our existing workforce will grow. Training underpins quality and collaboration produces great results.” >>Read more Roof Training Group News Previous article Roofers and Builders Reminded to Follow Waste RulesNext article EJOT Innovates to Support UK’s Higher Soffit Insulation Standards Share article You may also like View all News Industry News +2 18 March 2026 Data Shows Younger, More Skilled UK Construction Workforce Industry News +3 13 March 2026 LSTA Prepares to Welcome French Students Industry News +2 11 March 2026 CITB Makes Changes to Employer Networks Funding for 2026-27 Industry News +2 9 March 2026 Infrastructure Pipeline Updated with Skills and Workforce Forecast Sign Up to Roofing Today Stay up to date with all of the latest news from Roofing Today by signing up to our weekly Bulletins… Sign Up Today Get in Touch Check out the latest issue 123 March-April 2026 View Now Past Issues Get in Touch
