Clarke Roofing’s Charity Golf Day Raises £11,000 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice

EASTBOURNE-BASED Clarke Roofing Southern Ltd has raised £11,000 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice at its recent charity golf day.

There were 26 teams, representing local businesses, clients and suppliers, which took part in Clarke Roofing’s charity golf day which was held at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club in Paradise Drive. Local based Advanta Accountants who had joined up with Quantuma won first place in the four-ball stableford competition.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice, who celebrated their 40^th anniversary last year, provides support for people with any life-limiting illness towards the end of their lives. The hospice provides care in their 20-bed Inpatient Unit, through their Living Well service and, increasingly, to families in their own homes.

It costs just over £17,000 a day to run the hospice and all their services, and just over 70% of this funding comes from donations from their local community.

Valued Supporter

Clarke Roofing’s Business Development Manager Lisa Pickard, who organised the event with Director David Beer, said, “We are absolutely over the moon with the amount we raised. We were worried it was going to be too hot, but a gentle breeze helped keep everyone cool. The team at the golf club ensured the day ran smoothly and the greenkeepers did an amazing job on the course during the heatwave.

“We would also like to say a huge thank you once again to everyone who entered a team, donated raffle and auction prizes and sponsored holes together with other monetary donations towards the event and came along throughout the day offering help and support!”

This golf day has raised an extraordinary amount and we would like to thank everyone involved in organising it; the team at Clarke Roofing and everyone who took part and gave so generously during the day.”
