CURTIS MOORE (Cladding Systems) Ltd has secured the roofing and cladding contract for a brand-new sports centre in Edinburgh.

Working alongside GRAHAM Construction, Curtis Moore will provide the Kalzip Standing Seam roofing, Euroclad Built-up cladding system and Polycarbonate cladding for the Meadowbank Sports Complex, which will replace the current 50-year-old complex.

The new £45million state-of-the-art centre will include a dedicated indoor athletics area, three fitness studios, two games halls, a gym and a purpose-built gymnastics area. Outdoor there will be a new running track, two all-weather football pitches and a dedicated space for throw athletics.

Work is scheduled to commence on site towards the end of September. Upon completion in 2020, the venue is expected to become one of the country’s top community sports centres and feature some of the most state-of-the-art fitness facilities in Britain.

Ashleigh Thomson, Business Development Director at Curtis Moore, said: “Having worked with Graham Construction previously, it’s fantastic not only to be working with them once again, but to be working with them on such a stand-out project. Meadowbank Sports Centre will be an excellent venue for the community – we’re delighted to be part of the delivery team.”
