CITB Confirms £39m Investment in National Construction Colleges

NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION COLLEGES investment over the next 3 years will total £39 million for the sites at Erith, Bircham and Inchinnan.

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) says its investment will create substantial value for the construction industry through an expanded training offer, outstanding teaching, learning and support, and beacon leadership across the wider training sector.

The investment includes new programmes and pathways to help meet industry needs, targeting NCC as a provider of choice for large-scale infrastructure projects.

The redevelopment work at Erith is already underway with a capital investment for this year of £11 million. CITB will be investing £30 million in total over 2025-28 at the site.

Training will continue as usual throughout the development. Contractors appointed through Crown Commercial Services (CCS) demolished decommissioned buildings in April 2025 and new training buildings and technology will be installed.

Training provision will be expanded across the College’s three sites, increasing the range and volume of apprenticeship and commercial training.
