BMI Apprentice of the Year 2023

Twenty apprentices and tutors came to take part in the event held at the BMI Training Academy in Gloucestershire. The finalists competed in a variety of tasks which tested not only their roofing skills, but also broader business skills which will help them to progress their careers in the future.

Every year, BMI invites roofing apprentices from across the country to come together at the annual Apprentice of the Year competition and test their skills in front of a panel of industry judges across both pitched and flat roofing categories.

The theme for this year’s competition reflected the topic of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, ‘Skills for Life’. Entrants were asked to demonstrate how their experiences have shaped their learning requirements throughout their career, how they achieved learning a skill, and how they have worked with others to develop their skill set.
