Bain & Irvine Merger Strengthens Roofing Services Across Scotland

SCOTTISH roofing firms Bain & Irvine and Newton Roofing and Building have merged, strengthening the two company’s capabilities and reach across Edinburgh, Central Scotland, and beyond.

Bain & Irvine says the merger aligns with its strategy to preserve its “longstanding tradition of craftsmanship” while expanding its offerings to meet the “evolving needs of clients” across Scotland.

Established nearly 80 years ago, Bain & Irvine specialises in traditional slate roofing and heritage restoration. It is one of only three Scottish companies on the Heritage Register working throughout the UK on specific heritage projects (pre-1919 properties). Over the decades, the company has expanded its services in both modern and historic roofing techniques.

Newton Roofing was founded in 2020 by co-directors Jamie and Brian and has since completed a wide range of projects, from minor repairs to full roof replacements. Together, the team has over 30 years of combined experience.
