The site has been awarded the Seal of Excellence for achieving outstanding quality at the NHBC Pride in the Job East Regional awards. Avonside Biggleswade carried out the roof tiling, slating and lead work for Zone B of Kier Living Eastern’s Oakthorpe site in Peterborough, with roof works beginning in August 2019. The site comprises a variety of semi-detached and detached private residential and social housing new-build properties, from one-and two-bedroom apartments to three-and four-bedroom houses. Pride in the Job A virtual Pride in the Job presentation was held on Friday 30 October, hosted by NHBC Regional Director East, Richard Hartshorn. Avonside Biggleswade were thrilled to hear that the Oakthorpe site, along with the Site Manager, Max Perrin, had been awarded the prestigious Seal of Excellence. The award recognises Max’s excellent standards on site and the quality of the construction he managed, whilst marking the commitment to excellence that the site team and sub-contractors Kier Living Eastern worked with have demonstrated throughout the project. Max Perrin said: “From the 11,000 eligible sites, there are around 140-150 Seals awarded, putting us in the top 1.5% of sites across the UK – a fantastic achievement for everyone. In his introduction to our award, Richard commented on the consistency we have maintained at Oakthorpe, this is testament to the standards we have set ourselves and produced on a daily basis.” Parnership with developers Simon Wilson, who has been Avonside Biggleswade Branch Manager for two years, added: “To me, personally, the Seal of Excellence award reflects the high quality work that we can deliver working in partnership with developers. It reflects a lot of hard work put in by all the management team in regards improving quality, health and safety and great value for money.” This year sees the NHBC Pride in the Job competition, the only UK-wide contest dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding, celebrate its 40th anniversary.
