Master Roofers Launches Individual Learner Journey and Prospectus

MASTER ROOFERS UK, the organisation dedicated to improving the standard of roofing in the UK through education and training, has launched a new training prospectus including its new Individual Learner Journey (ILJ) qualification.

Last week, three students, Charlie, John and Oliver, of the Master Roofers Academy became the first in the UK to receive the Bronze ILJ qualifications after completing foundation lead welding and bossing skills training.

The Learner Journey at Master Roofers is designed to create a pathway progressing through grades of skill, working toward a Gold ILJ in any given subject.

Employers Commitment

And it’s not just the students who are recognised and rewarded. The Commitment to Training scheme also rewards employers who show an active effort to enhance the skills of their workforce. Employers sending students to the Master Roofers Training Academy for three or more weeks in a calendar year will attract an award demonstrating their Commitment to Training.

The scheme offers categories of reward according to level of investment individuals and employers demonstrate:

• Bronze award is for 3 or more training weeks
• Silver award is for 5 or more training weeks
• Gold award is 7 or more training weeks

Each award is made as as soon as trainees complete their training milestone and receive their qualification.

“The ILJ qualification also complements national qualifications, for instance if students complete an NVQ level 3 in Slating and Tiling at our training facilities, they will simultaneously receive a Gold ILJ certificate through our qualification route, reflecting a focused recognition by Master Roofers UK.”
