£32m Upgrade Contract Won to Re-Roof, Insulate and Re-render

A MAJOR £32.5million contract to improve the quality of homes in North Lanarkshire has been won by a Strathaven based contractor.

The four-year programme involving roofing, rendering and insulation upgrades was won by refurbishment specialist, Procast. The work is primarily on low-rise houses such as terraced, semi-detached or four-in-a-block flatted property types no more than two storeys high.

The project is Lot No.1 of three in a massive £60million schedule of housing improvements in the local authority. The area sits to the north-east of Glasgow and contains many of its suburbs and commuter towns and villages.

Half of the homes in the project are council-owned, while the other half are either owner-occupied or private sector rented. Procast will be responsible for securing he participation of the owners and agreements to the works.

Lot 1 is subject to government Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland funding (HEEPS) for some occupants. Others may qualify for a financial subsidy via the Energy Company Obligation scheme to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.

Contract Won

The Measured Term Contract for Re-Roofing, Re-Rendering and Insulation Works: Lot 1 North Lanarkshire Council starts in April, 2021.
