SFS Intec Appoints New National Manager in Strengthened Sales Team

Leading fastener manufacturer SFS intec has promoted two experienced members of its building envelope division to strengthen its sales team, as it builds on its market-leading combination of technical expertise and customer service excellence.

Taking up the position as head of the roofing and cladding sales team is David Osborne, who has worked for SFS intec as a Technical Sales Advisor for the last 12 years. In being appointed National Sales Manager, David takes responsibility for the team of five Technical Sales Managers who serve customers at a regional and local level.

As key account managers, their responsibilities not only cover sales advice and quotations, but the provision of technical, logistical and installation support, as well as liaising with the customer's whole project team to ensure the successful delivery of every project.

David will also personally manage key account customers across the UK and help to drive SFS intec’s sales strategy, working closely with other departments within the business, and supporting his team to ensure all customers benefit from the very best service levels. This has been at the core of SFS intec’s success in serving the building envelope market for more than 30 years with a wide range of fasteners for pitched roof, façade and flat roof construction.

Joining David’s team following six years as an Application Technician providing on-site support is Colin Black, who has been promoted to Technical Sales Manager for Scotland. His hands-on experience will be invaluable in ensuring customers receive the right technical guidance on fasteners for the wide array of roofing and cladding applications. He will be the day-to-day point of contact for clients based north of the border, fully supported by the technical teams based in Leeds and SFS intec’s global HQ in Switzerland.

Commenting on his new role, David said: “We know how much our customers value our 100% focus on service, and I’m excited to be heading a team with such a strong commitment here. I’m delighted that Colin has joined our team too, as he brings a strong mix of skills that will ensure we continue to exceed customer expectations.

“Colin’s promotion from Application Technician, in which he worked closely with site managers and installers – including conducting pull-out tests, is exactly the kind of path that SFS encourages as a business. This reflects the value we place on loyal team members, and is important in maintaining a team who understand the intricacies of fastener design, manufacture, installation and longevity.”

Colin added: “Having spent the last six years as an SFS intec Application Technician in the northern region, and more than 10 years on 'the tools' prior to that, I have forged some excellent relationships with contractors and OEMs. I am looking forward to building on this, creating some new relationships too, and I am really looking forward to the new challenge with the many exciting opportunities in the marketplace that I am keen to explore.”

Operating from its UK headquarters in Leeds, SFS intec is part of the Swiss-based SFS Group, which has annual sales in excess of £1.1bn and a history dating back to the 1950s serving customers in the construction, automotive, electronics, industrial and medical products markets.
