Roofing Contractor Chooses Grufekit for Green Roof Project

The ease of installation offered by the GrufeKit green roof, gave Paul Griffiths of P&K Roofing Contractors the confidence to recommend it for a residential property in North London.  Now, following its successful application, the company is adding green roofs to its service offering.

When green roofs first entered the market, the systems would need irrigation for the first few months, to help plants become established on site and they required specialist skills and training for installation. Most roofing contractors therefore felt this fell outside the realm of their day-to-day work, and would sub contract to a specialist company.

Grufekit is different. The green roof is made up of multiple individual modules, with each module containing everything needed from a water reservoir and drainage layer to the soil and vegetation. The system is far simpler to install and is also lightweight: It only took Paul and his assistant three hours to install the GrufeKit modules and five hours in total when including the 18 metres of pebble edging on the extension’s 20msq roof.

Impressed
Paul Griffiths was so impressed with the GrufeKit system that he is now due to install another one for a different customer. “We got on really well with the GrufeKit green roof system, it was very easy to understand and simple to install.  We made more money on the job because we installed the green roof ourselves instead of subcontracting it."

GrufeKit is a four in one system, with each module containing everything needed from a water reservoir and drainage layer to the soil and vegetation. Find more information on GrufeKit by visiting the website here.
